NIRUSHAN THANABALASINGAM

Nirushan is practicing in Ontario as a Registered Physiotherapist. Nirushan received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University. Prior to this, he graduated from McMaster University in the Honours Life Sciences Program with a specialization in Sensory-Motor Systems.

His passion for the field of rehabilitation stems from personal experience with Physiotherapy at a young age, which allowed him to return to participation in sports and daily activities. It is now his aim to guide others to achieve the same feat. He has experience working in various units in the hospital, including post-op surgical rehab, inpatient rehab, the emergency department, and the ICU, in addition to orthopedic clinics.  Currently, he is rostered in Ontario to perform dry needling.

Nirushan strongly values the importance of a patient-centered approach to care and believes patients should actively participate in their care plans. He plans to expand his own skillset through continuing education courses in vestibular rehab, advanced manual therapy, and more.
